COOL SCHOOL
ON the 15th March at the Prestige Hotel, South Shields, various year 10 GCSE graphics studentstook part in an all day workshop to design a cool school.
Teams had to design either an indoor or outdoor learning zone, which reflected what the pupils would like to see built in future schools. The cost of the projects would be covered by the 120 million pound budget given to South Tyneside to develop and biuld learning zones. Winners were chosen on originality, aspects of team work, and the practicality if their ideas. Architectural experts, from the UK and America, made the final decisions.
Boldons team: Laura Gill, Charlie Tokell, Dannielle Rowe and Helen Grieves won the outdoor section with their design which included an art centre tree house, and underground room.
