In October of this year, the current year 10 Drama students will take part in a Shakespeare Festival where they will be shortening one of Shakespeare's finest plays.
THE Merchant of Venice is Boldon's choice. The festival will include a number of schools from the country performing a 30 minute performance of their chosen play, which can be adapted, the choices include Macbeth, The Tempest, Othello and Hamlet.
In September the students participating will be given a half day training workshop run by the award-winning theatre company Dramarama. These workshops have proved invaluable to school's performances and in raising the students' acting abilities and confidence. The culmination of al lthe students hard work will be a final performance of all the plays at The Customs House in South Shields.
