Newspaper THE ONLY WAY IS UP

Spotted by football scout, Alan Millwood, at eight, and joining Sunderland Academy at ten, Year 11 pupil, Jamie Chandler's sporting talents have progressed greatly.

His triumphs include the under sixteen's Nike cup, top scorer award from Inter Monkton boys and call ups from the England training camp but his biggest achievement is to be signed for Sunderland AFC after leaving school. Jamie commented: "February 1st, the most important day of my life - the day my childhood day came true, knowing I'd be a Sunderland player when I left school."

Jamie will have fond memories of competing in competitions for past clubs but insists his main aim is to concentrate on his GCSEs and to do well in all of his exams.
