Pupils away ski-ing often get a sore throat due to the altitude and air temperature please provide some throat lozenges e.g. Strepsils, other medicine e.g. Paracetamol, Ibrofen should be handed in to a member of staff in a clear plastic bag, clearly labelled with the child’s name , on the day of departure. If your child suffers from travel sickness please supply with pills e.g. Sturgeon/sick bag.
To make the long journey more comfortable it is advisable to take a pillow and light blanket. Ipods, hand held games are allowed but are the responsibility of the child as are mobile phones. The bus will have a DVD player so suitable DVD’s can also be brought. Use of the toilet restricted to once you leave the Ferry. There will be sufficient stops in England.
English money and a small amount of Euros for breakfast in France will be required for stops at services in England on the way to Dover and on the return trip maximum of £20.00.
As services can be expensive you can provide your own food and drinks, please no red bull type drinks, for the journey. Spending money for Austria needs to be Euros. This must be handed into school by Friday 7 March 2007 and the staff will act as a bank for the children. I suggest a maximum of £60.00 worth of Euros. Please pack in an envelope clearly labelled with child’s name and amount of Euros.
- One evening activity for the group will be Austrian bowling and will require a clean pair of trainers to bowl in.
It is expected that the behaviour of pupils will be exemplary at all times. Any damage at the hotel or on the coach will have to be paid for. No one will be allowed to drink alcohol or smoke please ensure your child is aware of this. Pupils are not allowed to chew gum on the bus or in hotel. Pupils must not purchase alcohol, cigarettes or weapons e.g. knives as presents. Failure to adhere to the above will lead to withdrawal of privileges.
1reasonable sized rucksack or holdall for use on the inside of the vehicle and 1 medium sized suitcase or soft holdall to be loaded in the hold. Please do not bring more than this.
Any further queries on this matter please do not hesitate to contact Mr D Fairclough at Boldon School.
