In accordance with the school uniform policy, I remind all students and parents that suitable trainers must be worn for PE lessons (not Vans, Hi-Tops, Flossy’s etc). Our policy which is fully endorsed by the Governing Body must be followed.
Girls are not allowed to wear leggings. Boys must bring the correct shorts and these are worn during indoor activities; dark coloured tracksuit bottoms may be worn during outside activities and are an optional extra.

The Boldon School/Martin Gray Football Academy officially launched in front of the local press on Wednesday 11th January. 41 dedicated and talented boys and girls were selected for the academy after 8 trials and 6 practice matches.
The students will recieve 2 hours of professional football coaching from ex Sunderland players Martin Gray and Brian Atkinson as well as recieivng workshops from current professionals within the game. Added to this the student will recieve extra educational support through the week from the academy educational staff.
Friday 13th January sees the senior academy players take part in their first match against Darlington FC U16s, a tough test for Boldon, but confidence is high.

I am delighted to tell parents that our brand new fitness suite will be open to all members of the local community aged 16 and over. The facilities will be open every evening Monday – Friday from 4.00 pm to 9.00 pm from Monday 6 June 2011 until Thursday 21 July 2011.
The cost of using the suite will be £3.00 per session for adults and £2.00 for concessions. The suite has 3 digital TV’s, 10 cardio machines and a variety of fixed and free weights. A registered fitness instructor will be available at all times. Anyone who uses the suite will be required to supply basic personal information and complete an induction programme before using the facilities. Inductions can be booked through the school reception.
